San Onofre Nude Beach Naked Battle Cry - Give Us Our Unclothed Beach Back!!!!

(Guest Site Post By Melissa Dejanude )
San Onofre Nude Beach - What more can be said about the unclothed beach scenario at San Onofre ? The news was covered a thousand times in web logs and news articles from around the globe. The internet is filled with stories about the San Onofre nudity ban of 2008 (which did not really take enforced effect until the summer of 2010 - the worst summer of my life, which I'll get back to). Well, I do have more to say.
For those who are not familiar with San Onofre, or the situation with the naked beach there, I've provided some links at the end of this article that I highly suggest checking out. The public is dealt an injustice there, one that needs considerably more media attention than it's received, and it is been my passion since the nudity ban to bring this situation to people's attention.

Here is a very brief recap: A small handful of non-elected park rangers and bureaucrats have essentially taken away the right of "The People" to skinny dip at the strand in California. Every unclothed beach in California, that dwells on State Park land, is impacted. The people who did this are apparently unaccountable to the public, and it was done with zero public input or outcry. They even used a technicality to attain their goal in appeals court, and they used your tax money to take action.

Independent from your nudity-ban, is the implication of what can be achieved, behind "The People's" backs, by the quantity of power that's vested in such a small group of non-elected state workers. Nudity was banned. Alcohol was banned. What will be next? What http://temasekinternational.net/__media__/js/netsoltrademark.php?d=familynudism.info/videos/last-summer-this-women-came-1229.html will the next private dislike or private-moral-code visit upon us? The chances are staggering.
San Onofre Nude Beach Nudity Prohibited Sign
It's been several months since I've written anything about San Onofre. Truthfully, I Have felt pretty jaded, even bitter, about the nudity ban, and the California State Parks system's treatment of naturists. I'ven't given up the fight, not by a long shot, but I suppose I have been able to dodge the negative vibe of it all, so that I could have a nice summer. So, after I was encouraged to write another article about San Onofre, I was hesitant to take - I needed to, but I did not. I feared the vibe. Bringing the ideas, and pain of it back to the forefront.. I simply was not sure if I was ready to go there. As you can see, I decided that confronting the obligation of sharing this life-altering injustice, and continuing to spread the word, trumped my own negative emotions.
I'm not the only man who feels hurt about San Onofre, there are many. I've been a "regular" at San Onofre's naked beach - which we make reference to as Trail 6, even though it is a ways from the legitimate Trail 6 path - for many years.
Why can we need it back so bad? Why not simply give up, and go to Blacks? Well, as I said, ALL Cal State Park Beaches are influenced by the nudity prohibition. It is currently not under fire, but it is easy to understand that Blacks is living on borrowed time. Besides, why should all the Los Angeles and Orange County folks need to drive all the way to San Diego, when we have a perfectly great unclothed beach at San Onofre?
Fine, maybe we should just cease our bitching and wear garments to the plage. The individuals who are accountable for the nudity prohibition think that is a reasonable alternative. They do not understand why we like to skinny dip in the first place. They feel that being bare at a beach, even one as remote as

Trail 6, should be a crime, and they have now made it thus. For us nude beach lovers, nevertheless, wearing clothing is most certainly not a great option. For over thirty years we've all been enjoying the naked beach at San Onofre in perfect harmony with the law, the rangers, the average man or woman, the military and nature.
The San Onofre bare beach regulars have worked hard over the years to protect their cherished territory: Keeping the sand free of garbage, self-policing the playa, creating the FOSOB group and offering their time to hand out flyers and training newbies on naked beach etiquette (no sex, no cameras, etc.), working with the rangers to make sure newcomers were aware of the playa rules (no tents or glass, etc), reporting the occasional offense, chasing away perverts and hidden camera voyeurs, etc., etc..
Why is the bare beach at San Onofre so "Cherished", you might ask?
First, you will need to comprehend there are no other bare beaches in all of Southern California's Ventura, Los Angeles and Orange Counties. Variable in the residents of the inland counties of Riverside and San Bernardino, you might have a sand-using population base of nearly eighteen million people. That number comprises a hell of a lot of naturists and nude beach supporters, and the unclothed beach goers from that massive population base have already been relying on San Onofre's bare beach as their only nude beach, within a realistic travel distance for normal weekend unclothed beach visits.
The distant, hike-in, dead-end, out-of-the-spotlight location of San Onofre's Trail 6 (T6) unclothed beach make it THE perfect bare beach place.
Other things that make San Onofre's unclothed beach so unique and particular are: good surf, warm summer water, friendly cliff & oilrig-free ocean scenery, warm friendly people, camping, and a close proximity to the really cool town of San Clemente - where lots of San Onofre visitors like to hang out and party at night after a playa day.
I've barely touched on the people, as well as the vibe. You get to be a pretty tight-knit group of fun loving nude beach buddies when you have been calling T6 your "home far from home" for as long as many of the regulars have. Some people have literally grown up there. Everyone is having an enjoyable time every time you see them. The nudies at T6 have become a large playa family, surfing together, playing volleyball, frisbee, beach golf, sunning, camping, BBQ's, and just hanging out with buddies.
San Onofre was not just a bare beach, it was a lifestyle. Our lives far from the playa were centered around our life at the plage. Certainly most of us also see bare resorts and hotsprings, but it's the plage we all crave. And you'd be hard pressed to find a better group of folks.
I've numerous amazing memories of T6, from world class sundown, to stealing credit for building the sand course over the rocks from my buddy.
